It's called a waiting list

I have a hatred for spending money. I really don't like doing it. However, when I find something I really want, I have a hard time not buying it. Weird, I know. C has this thing he calls his "One Month Waiting List," meaning if there's something he really wants to buy, he puts it on a waiting list, thinks about it for a month and then, if he still wants it at the end of the month, he will get it. I've decided to implement this thought into my purchasing life. It's hard, I'm soo impatient when it comes to buying things I want.

But, I'm waiting. It's on my list, and soon enough I will have it and won't even remember waiting for it.

This weekend consisted of a double date, a Park City visit, pictures at the Capitol and "Scrubs." It was a good one for sure. Now I just want the weather to warm up so it actually feels like summer!

to do list

1: Buy some summer sundresses

(any suggestions where to get some?)

2: GET A NEW JOB

(anyone know of anything?)

3: Pass my summer semester courses

4: Buy this camera?

Happy summer 2011! It's so fantastic, I am loving it so far!

Since no one gave me any advice on what to do to my room, I guess I'm left to fend for myself. Which is okay I suppose, since I have absolutely nothing going on this entire week and need something to fill my time.


Just a quick shout-out to my momma!  She is the greatest mother in the world, and I am so lucky that she is my mom! I love her so much!

Also, C and I went to the Real Salt Lake game yesterday, and it was a blast! Even though Javier Morales got his ankle broken, and RSL didn't score until the 87th minute (thank you Will Johnson) we still had a great time. We also left with major sunburns, but it was totally worth it!

in the mood for a re-do

I really want to re-decorate my room, way way bad.  Considering I only have an 18.5' (ish) by 9' (ish) size room to work with, this is a hard thing to do.  Especially with a 5' desk, a queen-size bed, a nightstand, and a semi-large dresser (and a cat).
But, I want to move the furniture around, possibly re-paint (?) and get some new decorations because it feels over-cluttered and almost not my style.  Went searching for some ideas.  Here are my thoughts:

These are my two favorites out of what I saw. I love the light colors, and just the style.

I really want something like these two mixed, if I can pull it off.

These are my next favorites, I love the frames behind the bed on the left,

and I'm obsessed with the curtains on the right. 

(however,  curtains+cat=bad idea)

I also really like these two because they are fresh and light, 

and they were just more ideas to look at.

Any thoughts on what I should do with my room? And how to do it inexpensively? I would love any, and all, suggestions.  I want to start on this project soon!

On Monday, C and I went to Bruges (definitely recommend this place, it's delish!)

I promise we (or at least I) will be making a stop there again very soon.

We also went to the Hogle Zoo.

So much fun!!!

happy May day

It's May, and summer is coming! I am so excited for this summer, it is going to be wonderful. So many adventures in store (including: first/last experience with summer college, turning 21, sister gone all summer long) and thousands of happy times to be had.

This week I finally made good on a promise I made to myself during the 21 Days Closer to Christ challenge that I did with Lambda Delta Sigma in March/April. (If you don't remember what it was you can find a little bit about it here) During the fantastic sisterhood fireside, Emily Freeman told us about how her family had gone out and found a picture of Christ for each of them. It couldn't be just any picture of Him, it had to be one that reflected each of their testimonies. This struck me as something I should do, and it has taken me almost a month to get done. But, after searching distribution centers, and Deseret Book's online store, I finally found my testimony picture. It is beautiful, and I cannot wait to frame it and have it hanging in my room.

I also found many other gems on Deseret Book's website for which I splurged and purchased. It was worth it though, there's something about art (and music) that just gets me. It strikes my spirit on just the right chord, and I love it. So, if you are ever in need of fairly inexpensive (the most I spent for a pic was $19, the least was $0.50), yet beautiful Gospel works of art (or anything, really) check out DB's website. You'll love it!

One more week, one more week.

That's what I have to keep telling myself.

One more week of this semester.

Then a two week break,

then school again.

But, this semester is almost over.

Thank goodness!

In other news,

I am soo happy! Life is great right now, and it is wonderful!
