I loathe this holiday. Honestly, I think Valentine's Day is so lame. I hate being embarrassed and it's a holiday all about attention-getting and showy things and it just kills me.
Plus I'm single, which might have something to do with it...But I digress.
Basically I woke up this morning and wanted to cuddle in bed with my cat all day and not go to school. I got up and went to school anyway.
After a very long day, I came home to a darling plate of brownies and a note from a dear friend, which made my day (thank you for that! You know who you are).
I then went out for ice cream with another friend, which I was excited for. It ended up being a great night, and I had a lot of fun! (I am pretty sure he doesn't read this blog, but I'll say thanks just in case)
I came home and chatted with my parents for a few minutes, and then descended to my room to comfort little Tonks (who turns one tomorrow, by the way!). My dad knocked on my door not too much later with flowers and something else in his hand. I thought they were from him (he has an adorable habit of not only hiding Valentines around my room, but giving me flowers as well, my cute dad) but he handed them to me and said he found them on the porch and didn't know who they were from. There was a note and some chocolate with them, and all the note said (besides the picture on the front of a flower) was: TO KRISTIN: -HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!
Didn't even say who it was from. Which, is very sweet, but really???? Anonymous?!?! Honestly honestly, the whole secret admirer thing is cute, but just tell me who you are. Really and truly, just tell me!
It turned out to be a not-so-bad Valentine's Day. But it didn't change my opinion of the holiday. I still dislike it just as much. Oh well.
Another quick note....weather is so good at stirring up old
memories. Definitely happened a lot today.
Good times.
