remembering 2011

Since it's the new year, I find it nice to reflect on the great things I did during the last year.
So here's a glance back at 2011. It was grand.

I finished my time as IC Vice Pres of Lambda Delta Sigma (and bawled when I heard the sorority was disbanded)

I went to California with some friends over Spring Break

C

I decided rock climbing is actually fun

I went backpacking to Lake Blanche

and in the Uintas

Turned 21 (and went to the Bonneville Salt Flats)

Drove from Montana to Jackson Hole with my sister

Spontaneously took a short trip to Yellowstone

Love, love, loved my first row seat in the MUSS

Went to San Francisco

And had many other great adventures
(mostly involving C and a camera)

2011 was so fantastic, I can't wait to see the adventures that await me in 2012!

Thought I would share these gems.

 I know, I make really funny faces when I cheer on my Utes—I become a crazy-head.

I just love them too much to look like a normal person.

fall break

It's fall break! Finally. I need this break from school so much—just a week straight to relax and hang out with C. It'll be so great!

I love fall so much. I'm hoping it sticks around a little longer so that I can enjoy the nice weather before the snow attacks.

sand castle

About a month ago C and I went to the Great Salt Lake with his family. We decided to make a sand castle since the water is stinky and itchy and not that much fun to swim in. C decided to take a time lapse of our castle building adventure, and he recently put it up on Vimeo. I thought I'd share it—it's super neat.

cabin weekend

This past weekend, C and I spent a couple days at our friend's cabin in Oakley. It was lots of fun.
Here's some pics to show our adventures.

 This horse ran right up to the fence when C started taking pictures. He stuck his nose right on C's lens. It was really funny.

 I fed this horse some weeds and then snapped a pic of him eating.

 Probably my favorite horse—he was gorgeous, and a big sweetheart.

And of course, C and I taking pictures of the river.

Such a great weekend!

it's becoming fall

It has been awhile since I got my camera out to shoot something, mostly because I was feeling uninspired about things to shoot. But when C and I went out to shoot last night, I decided that even if I wasn't inspired by anything, I was going to get my camera out and shoot anyway.

I wasn't totally happy with all the results, (I only really like two of the images out of the nearly 80 I shot) but here they are anyway.

It's been a long week at school, and I can hardly wait for a relaxing weekend, and to watch my Utes smash the Cougs. That'll be great.

Still haven't given up hope on the job search that is still remaining unsuccessful. Ugh. Oh well.

So happy with life these days. I mean, how could I not be with this cute guy in my life.

this past week

School started, and I survived.

Sadly, two of my classes are extremely boring, and one is waaaaaaay long,

but I think it'll be a great semester.

Also, kayaking class with C is so much fun!

I love it.

C and I went backpacking up in the Uinta Mountains for two nights.

It was fantastic! I had a wonderful time.

Clegg Lake again. We definitely swam in this little lake, from one side to the other and back. It was freezing cold, but soo much fun! Probably my favorite part of the trip.

And...football season starts this week! U vs Montana State!

what I've been up to

I've been slacking in the blogging department.

And I'm sorry.

But I've been having some amazing adventures!

Want to see?

 Took some star trails up Big Cottonwood Canyon

 Picked up my sister from Missoula, Montana

 Drove six hours from Missoula to Jackson Hole

 Took more star trails in Jackson

 Saw a moose up Little Cottonwood Canyon

 Went to Jackson with C, white water rafted, and took a spontaneous trip to Yellowstone.

 Enjoyed spending time in Yellowstone with C

 Saw some awesome things

 Really awesome things

And had such a good time!

Life is sooo great!

Even though Fall Semester starts next week, life is wonderful.

happy 24th

I hope you aren't feeling neglected—I realize it's been a long time since I posted anything, but I have had a busy week. Good news, school is almost over! Six more days, and then I can say that I survived my first (and only) summer semester! Yay me!

Here's what's been going on via pictures.

They tell stories much better I think.

 C and I took a trip out to Antelope Island again.

 It was beautiful, and the sunset was breathtaking.

 It was also very windy. But so much fun.

I love summer!

backpacking

I have to admit, I had never really been backpacking before.

Didn't know what to expect.

Didn't expect my pack to be so heavy.

(it was 30 lbs)

And definitely didn't expect the hike to be so hard

and so steep.

I also didn't expected the view at the top to

completely erase my hatred toward the trail.

But it did.

Lake Blanche is beautiful!

We found the perfect little grassy nook for our tents,

 and it was an amazing little getaway.

antelope island

C and I took a cruise out to Antelope Island.

I forgot how far away it is.

(and how much I miss my iPod cord for my car)

But we got out there and set up to shoot,

and C forgot his camera's battery.

So I let him borrow mine a bit.

Here are some of the results of my island camera lesson:

 I mastered the art of 10-second timer pretty quickly.

 These logs/benches were intriguing me the entire time we

were at this part of the island. I wanted to shoot them way bad,

and this is my favorite of the shots.

 Again, a 10-sec timer masterpiece.

And probably my favorite of the bunch. Not only is the sky

super awesome, but I happen to be standing next to an extremely

good looking guy. Aren't I so lucky?
