teeeeeethhhhhh

I went to the dentist today.
Cool right?  Yeah, it's awesome.  You're jealous, I can tell.
But because of my visit to that office today, I decided to dedicate this post to some 8 years that I spent with something on my teeth.
Explanation?  Sure!

3rd grade - expander (if you don't know what that is, I consider you very lucky)
3rd grade-braces
5th grade- braces off.  Retainer
7th grade- braces again.
10th grade. braces off.  permanent retainer installed on bottom teeth.
college year 1- lost top teeth retainer.  new one made.
college year 2- At the dentist today, the dental assistant lady was scraping off my teeth with that horrible sharp metal object that always gets jabbed in there.  (honestly, I don't know what it's called. Horrible metal object works for me).  She was scraping and scraping so hard (possibly because she needed an arm workout or something) and I was lying there thinking "she's going to break my retainer.  Really and truly.  It's going to break.....Please don't break!".  Friends, guess what happened?  She was checking my teeth once she was all done and goes "Oh dear.  Looks like your retainer is broken.  Do you know how long it's been like that?" (Inside my head-"why yes, approximately 5 minutes since you just broke it trying to get rid of your Relief Society arms")  Have you noticed it at all?"  I said no.  Because I hadn't noticed it before.  Because it hadn't been broken before.  She stared at it for a minute longer, then went and grabbed my dentist who informed me "It looks like your retainer is broken."  No, really?  I had no idea.  Duh.  Then he mentioned that he could fix it.  But changed his mind.  Why?  Because not only is the wire broken, but the glue hooking it to my teeth came unglued.  I know, wonderful right? Not.  So he informed me that I should give my orthodontist a call (joy, that's my favorite place to go) and have him fix it since he's better at it.  He also said "Oh, it doesn't have to be a rushed thing.  Just within the next few weeks".  I'm sitting there thinking "Dude, I had braces for 8 years because my teeth were SIDEWAYS.  I'm not waiting weeks.  It's getting fixed.  ASAP. Why?  Because I DO NOT want braces again. Ever."
So I stormed out of there mad as mad can be with my toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, and gum trying to figure out what had just occurred.  End result of my dentist appointment today?  Though I may have very clean teeth now, it is obviously essential that I very soon make an appointment to visit the dreaded ortho office I spent many mornings in for 8 years because the dental assistant scraped too hard and snapped my permanent retainer.  Permanent.  Shouldn't that mean "non-breakable"?  Apparently not.
Now I've got to go make a phone call.  Please excuse me.

I love....

Beta.  I don't know if you all understand how much Beta means to me.  My whole life is about Beta now, and I absolutely love it.  These girls are my best friends, we have the greatest adventures together.  We have fun, we just laugh at everything.  Joining Beta completely changed my life and I will never stop raving about how incredible Lambda Delta Sigma is.  It's such an amazing organization that unifies girls who would never have found each other otherwise.  I'm friends with girls I would never have believed I'd be friends with, and it's absolutely incredible.  Beta has increased my testimony of the gospel immensely, and has made me realize how important my Savior is in my life.  Everything is so much easier when He is the center of it, and being a member of Beta has helped me to realize that.  And to keep Him centered in my life.  It is the one thing that is always constant in my life, and I am so grateful for it.  I love Beta!

Remember how I said this would be the best spring break ever?

I was right.

It was.

No really, I cannot think of a better spring break.

I went to St. George with my Beta girls.

Spent time with my favorite person.

Went hiking in beautiful Zion's National Park.

Went to the Color Festival (coolest thing I've ever done in my life - this year is the second time I've been)

So, it was a great break and I'm sad it's over.

But I am a happy girl.  Happier than I've been in a long time.  Reasons why will not be shared because I'm trying not to blog about personal stuff for awhile.

Just know I'm happy. And it was the best break ever.  Friday was the best day.  Hands down.  Best day.

spring break!!!!

It's only the 2nd official day of spring break, but I already can say that it has been the BEST spring break.  Ever.

-saw best/oldest friend

-got swept off my feet

-learned to drive stick

-started making a quilt

-realized that I'm happier than I've been in a long time

-worked

-got free stuff from work

-wore flip flops for the first time this year

the list could go on!  It's been an amazing break so far!!

spring break yet?

I'm in trouble.  Why?  Because it's Wednesday and I have 2 papers due Friday, a test tomorrow that I've spent like 15 minutes studying for, and math homework to finish. 
Why, you may ask, is none of this done??? 
Let me tell you.
I am in SPRING BREAK MODE already.  I only have 3 more classes until I'm done for a week, and that is....ugh.  All the motivation I need to not do everything I'm supposed to.  Maybe I'm procrastinating my papers until tomorrow because I can generally crank out a decent, A grade, paper in about 20ish minutes (it's a gift).  But I am planning on doing my math homework as soon as this post is up.  Only 18 more problems left (I've done 2)!

I just can't stop thinking about how I want to be in St. George sooo badly!  One week from now that is where I'll be.  Thank goodness.

Warm weather, blue skies, sunshine, shorts, swimming and flip flops.  Plus some hiking and chillin' with my girls.  Bring it on!
