two funny things

Two funny things that happened to me today:

#1- While driving to my nanny job, I saw a guy driving with shoes on top of his car.  Oops!  Haha

#2- While babysitting, the little girl, Paige, informed me that her brother, Andrew, doesn't want to get married.  When I asked him why, he simply said "'Cause I don't want to kiss no one!" (FYI, Andrew is 4) Hahahaha I laughed so so hard! Funny children.

happy pioneer day!

Yesterday was the 24th of July!  Which is a holiday only celebrated in the lovely state of Utah, but still. It means more fireworks for me, which I am NOT complaining about one bit.

As cheesy as this may be, I am very grateful for the pioneers (even more grateful due to my job which requires that I don a lovely pioneer outfit and hike a mountain in the blistering heat) who came across the plains 163 years ago and settled this gorgeous state.  They really were amazing and strong saints, and I am proud to live in a place that came about because of all their hard work.

Here we are, July 20.  A month from now I will be getting all my stuff together for school.  I can hardly believe that summer has gone so fast - let alone gone down the road it has.  I had all these plans for how my summer was supposed to go, things that were supposed to happen, and how it was supposed to transition into school.  And right at the beginning, all those plans flew out the window and everything changed.  I wasn't sure I could have a good summer after what happened, it was hard and I was sad.  Enter the most unexpected, but the very best thing that could happen to me. Six weeks ago my summer started taking a turn for the better, and now it's only going up. Things just keep getting better and better and I am so lucky that this is my life. Sorry for the detail vagueness.  Hopefully one day soon I'll be able to scream my happiness out in this blog.  But, you all should remember my vow to not post super personal details on here.  One day though, soon hopefully, I'll be able to say everything.  But, I am soo happy!

I am so grateful!

Tonight at work I realized I am so grateful to have the presence of the Spirit, and to be so attuned to promptings and such.  I had the scariest experience of my life tonight - which goes in context with my grateful heart.  Because, had I not had the prompting to leave immediately, the terrifying experience would have been much much worse.
Thank goodness for the protection that comes from having the Spirit there!

a long time ago some big city was important for some big reasons

And I went to this big city!  Of course, it wasn't a big city then.  But, it's a big city now (tallest building now reaches 62 stories - the Hancock Tower), filled with "Big Dig"'s that are now completed, and the nation's oldest ballpark (Fenway Pahhk - say it out loud and you're using a Boston accent.  That's really how they say it.  Soo funny).  Also it has roots to outdate any place in the USA pretty much.  Gravestones dating back to the 1600's, which is soo awesome.
But, end of the ramble is I LOVE BOSTON!  It's a beautiful city!
Also, Cape Cod is pretty nice as well.

I learned some things about myself while on this trip.  I trust easily, scare too much, and miss when I probably shouldn't.  But, I love excessively, and often, so if you know me, you can basically count on being loved by me.
